A lively, ethereal, highly aromatic Junmai Ginjo, with notes of freshly harvested strawberries, river moss, and wet stones. On the palate the texture is light and delicate but also exceptionally long and complex. There is a hint of sweetness that is balanced by refreshing acidity and a soft mineral quality. This is a singularly elegant sake with a lightness and complexity that rivals the Mosel’s most graceful Kabinett.
SMV : +2 – Acidity 1.5 – Alcohol content: 16%
About the Producer
Tsukinokatsura was founded in 1675 by the Masuda family in Fushimi, one of the eleven wards of the city of Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture. Over the centuries, their sakes have been praised by classical Japanese writers and poets, earning them the nickname “the literary sake”. Tokubee Masuda is the 14th generation owner, and an ardent proponent of tradition and innovation. His father, Keiichi Masuda, started a revolution with the commercialization of aged sake "Koshu 古酒”. In 1964, he also reintroduced the Nigori style of sake , which had not been produced for more than 200 years.
