Sauternes – Château d’Arche
90% Semillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes are hand harvested through three passes, and yield a tiny 20 hl/ha. The wine ferments in stainless steel tanks and then ages for 12 to 18 months in new oak barrels.
Attractive nose of white flowers and honey. Balanced palate with notes of ripe pineapple, apricot, and orange marmelade. Complexity and freshness of fruit. 13.5% alcohol.
About the Producer
The Château d'Arche has one of the finest terroirs in Sauternes, and is classified as a Second Growth. It is located on a hill above the village of Sauternes on gravel and limestone-clay soil that is ideal for ripening and the development of botrytis.
