60% Tempranillo from Valle de San Vincente, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon from Valle de la Grulla. Aged 10 months in French and American oak barrels, 20% new. 1190 cases produced. 13.5% alcohol.
The name “Madera 5” is a bit of an inside joke between the partners of the winery. Madera means “wood” in Spanish and there are 5 (cinco) partners. Since the partners happen to love golf, they essentially named the winery after a Five Wood golf club!
