87% Tannat, 11% Cabernet Franc, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 30 years old vines are facing south/southwest with an average altitude of 250 m. Terroir of red sandstone, ophite and limestone. Maceration respectful of the fruit for 15 days with fermentation at 30°C (86F). Aged in large casks and tanks for 12 months.
This vintage offers plenty of character and a beautiful density with aromas of ripe red and black fruits (cherry, blackberry). Fleshy and juicy, long finish and enveloping tanins.
Kattalin means “ladybug” in Euskara, the Basque language.
