Robert Guerin, wine-grower in Chenac sur Gironde, took an interest in Pineau des Charentes, first produced in 1589, at the end of the Second World War. It had just gained AOC status in 1945, and Robert focused his production on this exciting product. He started selling his modest production in 1954, making his deliveries on a Solex moped and introducing vacationers to the aperitif.

In the early 1960s, Robert Guerin’s children took over and developed the family business. In 1967, they founded the Société Puy Gaudin in partnership with their uncle and three other wine-growers. This new structure allowed them to scale up their production. Today, Puy Gaudin is a leader among Pineau producers.

Vermouth Guerin was born out of the desire to promote and introduce Pineau des Charentes to a new public. Crafted from a base of wine mixed with Pineau des Charentes, matured in Cognac casks, it offers a new and refreshing style of vermouth. People can “Pineau differently,” using Guerin Vermouth as a low-ABV aperitif or an ingredient in their favorite cocktails.
