About the Producer

Founded in 1888 by Francisco Adonegui and Miguel Olmart, Bodegas de Santo Tomas was the very first winery to be established in Baja California. It is located just 44 miles south of Ensenada. Throughout the decades, it has consistently produced high quality wines, continuously modernizing its production equipment. Winemaker Hugo D'Acosta joined the team in 1988 and worked there until 2000. During his tenure, he focused on Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Tempranillo blends. The winery currently owns 360 hectares of vineyards: 280 ha in Valle de Santo Tomas, 40 ha in Valle de Guadalupe /San Antonio de las Minas and 40 ha in Valle de San Vicente. All wines are made from estate fruit.
Farming/vinification practices: sustainable. The wines are vegan.
