ABOUT THE PRODUCER: No Love Lost
A successful career in the music industry was no match for Jay Nuñez’s desire to farm grapes and make wine. In 2015, he sold his possessions and drove from his hometown of Orlando, Florida to Napa Valley. He enrolled at Napa Valley College, where he helped to manage some of the heritage rows in the Napa Valley College vineyard, and made some small-batch wines – all while bartending and studying wine. Jay shared his college bottlings with several prominent sommeliers who were impressed with his work and encouraged him to start his own winery.
Jay established No Love Lost in downtown Napa in 2019. The winery makes terroir-driven wines with grapes from organic, family-owned growers. Jay prioritizes sustainability, inclusivity, and carbon consciousness. A first-generation Cuban American, Jay aims to make wine more accessible by creating an open, welcoming community and showcasing the diversity of California terroir.
Jay’s approach to winemaking starts in the vineyard. The grapes are sourced from vineyards in the Napa Valley’s well as small family-owned vineyards from other regions in Northern California. In the cellar, Jay employs traditional, low-intervention winemaking techniques to produce clean, expressive, naturally made California wines.
This pioneering natural winery is dedicated to producing wines sourced from family-owned wine growers.
