About the Producer

Michael Edlmoser
The Laessiger wines are made by award winning winemakers Viktoria and Michael Edlmoser - Michael is the winemaker and oenologist since 1998. Located in Vienna, their family-owned winery dates back to 1734. Together with a young and dynamic team, they use high quality fruit from the vineyards they farm to produce under this label affordable wines representative of both variety and terroir.
Perfect ripening conditions for the grapes prevail at the southern foothills of the Wienerwald – the Vienna Woods – in the wine-village of Mauer – Vienna and Lower Austria. Pannonian climate, coupled with regular precipitation, long hours of sunshine, fresh cool breezes from the forest and a wide diversity of soils results in wines with depth, complexity, and a fascinating spiciness.
“Laessing” is an Austrian term that means easy going, laid back, and that’s exactly what the wines are: downright enjoyable and meant to be shared. The brand supports the WineAid project, which benefits the Austrian Childhood Cancer Organization (Österreichische Kinder-Krebs-Hilfe) and Austrian Children’s Villages (Österreichische Kinderdörfer).
Farming practices: organic.
