The vineyard is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon (62%) and Merlot (33%), with small amounts of Carmenère and Petit Verdot. The grapes are harvested by hand, with fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks and ageing in barrels, around 25% new each year.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Château Tayac

Tayac is a 37-hectare family estate in the far north of the Margaux appellation, in the town of Soussans. It has been in the Portet family for four generations. Nicolas Portet is the current owner, and the estate produces around 130,000 bottles a year.

The vineyard is planted with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, followed by 10–12 months of ageing in French oak, around 35% new each year.
