ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Hervieux-Dumez

Heirs to a unique know-how and a demand for quality passed down through 4 generations, Clément and Timothée are now committed to sublimating the assets and particularities of their terroir. The estate is certified HVE and VDC for its environmentally friendly practices and it is the first estate in Champagne to be certified Bee Friendly, for the protection of bees. Their blends are the result of years of learning about the soils, and with each new bottling, of careful listening to what the wine expresses about the year and the conditions that made it mature.

The vineyard is spread over an area of 9.6 hectares – Sacy, Chamery, Ecueil and Villedommange. The soil is made up of clay, chalk, but also silt and sand. The vines are nourished by this beautiful diversity which brings great finesse to the wines, as well  as bright aromas and suppleness. Chalk is a real asset because of its porosity, which makes it a natural water reservoir.

In 1971 an elite group of 12 growers banded together to highlight the superior quality of the best grower-champagnes, a new concept at the time in a market controlled by the Grandes Marques. Today the group has expanded to 25 growers but the rules for entry are as stringent as ever, starting with the requirement that 100% of a domaine’s production be made from estate-grown fruit. The artisan winegrowers in the Club embody the excellence and diversity of the Champagne vineyards, spread across the finest crus and most iconic terroirs.

The Spécial Club cuvée is Le Club’s ultimate prestige cuvée, expressing the unique terroir of each winegrower. To earn this label, each member produces their most promising vintage according to a strict set of specifications, including two blind tastings – a guarantee of craftsmanship, authenticity, and quality. This ultimate cuvée is only achieved once every few years and is presented in a dedicated bottle base on an 18th century design.
