|Mauricio R. Cantú, Victor Segura (the winemaker) and three other partners started making wine in a garage at Aragón 126 back in 2007. They source the majority of their fruit from Valle San Vicente, which lies south of the city of Ensenada. The total production is 4,000 cases.|

The name “Madera 5” is a bit of an inside joke between the partners of the winery. Madera means “wood” in Spanish and there are 5 (cinco) partners. Since the partners happen to love golf, they essentially named the winery after a Five Wood golf club!
