Established in Okayama in 1913. Okayama-prefecture, a famous peach producing area, and the birthplace of legend Momotaro (Peach boy), Kamikokoro brewery was founded in 1913. Kamikokoro brewery is a relatively young micro sake brewery. As the second generation, Matsusaburo has a passion for sake brewing and established a branch shrine from the Matsuo Shrine in Kyoto, where the god of sake is enshrined. Kamikokoro was named after “Heart of the Gods”, refrecting his petition “to brew sake with a pure body and heart”. Kamikokoro brews savory sake using plenty of rice to bring out the full flavor of the rice, with a nicely balanced acidity.
