Viña Cartín is situated in the Salnés Valley, close to the Atlantic coast and the Umia river. The Winery owns 7,1 Ha of vines with a density of 800 vines per Ha, and all the wines are made from estate fruits.
The vines are 25 years old. The harvest is usually carried out mid- September and the grapes are hand-picked in 15 kgs plastic boxes.
The winery has a modern equipment that allows for temperature control, physical stabilization by refrigeration and cold filtration before bottling the wine.
The grapes are destemmed upon arrival, then gently pressed (pneumatic press).
The wine stays on the lees for 5 months, which gives it body and a creamier mouth feel.
Tasting note:
Medium body, balanced acidity, nicely structured with citrus aromas and hints of ripe tree fruits. Smooth and lively finish.
Perfect by itself, with seafood salads and light appetizers.
