Rioja Crianza
100% Tempranillo from Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and racked successively, the wine is then aged in casks (100% Amerian oak) and in the bottle. A bright, ruby-red wine with good structure. Round in the mouth with a pleasant finish. This is a perfect wine for red meat and cured cheeses.
Rioja Reserva
Blend of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. 80% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo and 5% Grenache. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks then aged in casks (100% American) for 12 months and in the bottle for another 24 months. This is a classic Rioja, that puts extraordinary quality at a very inviting price. 92 Points Wine & Spirits Magazine: "Round and supple in the middle, this grows increasingly luscious with air, slowly opening up to generous cherry flavor. The balance is harmonious with sandalwood-scented tannins. Rioja's classic piquillo pepper spice develops as well. A fine 2001 for current drinking." (12/07) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This shows classic dill, vanilla an dbrambly fruit aromas. Meanwhile, the palate deals wave after wave of vanilla-infused red fruit. For classicists this will constitute a trip down memory lane; a testament to the greatness of 2001." (11/1/07)
