BURGENLAND

Weingut Beck was established in 1975 when Matthias and Christine Beck took over their family's 5 ha farm and narrowed the operating focus to wine growing and vinification. Over the past three decades, they have expanded the estate holdings to 13.5 hectares, developed long standing contracts with growers for another 5 hectares, and completed construction on a new cellar facility in 2005. They have no further plans for expansion in the near future and wish to remain a small, high quality, family operation. Third generation and current winemaker, Judith Beck, sums up the family philosophy, "Complexity and elegance are more valuable than opulence".
