| Maine-Gazin is planted with 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The old vines average 40 years of age, and produce wines of exceptional concentration. 7.5 hectares of vines planted on the best hilltops of chalky clay of Blaye facing the Gironde. All grapes can be hand-harvested at optimum ripeness. This is a crucial factor when seeking to create a perfectly balanced wine. Once vinified, the wine was aged in the best French oak barrels. |

Made from 100% Merlot.
This topsoil has a mixture of boulder clay and chalky soil, with chalky subsoil. There is a unique microclimate, perfect for producing exceptional wines. The fully matured grape undergoes 6 weeks of fermentation in vats. It is then matured, still in vats, for 8 to 9 months depending on the vintage.
Tasting Notes: This is a deep red, limpid color, with a scent of soft fruits, jam and toast, which is an expression of great maturity. The nose is dark and brooding with enticing aromas of blackcurrant, plum, cedar and minerals. The flavors are equally complex and dense, with satin-smooth tannins and considerable length.
