Mas Sinen > Priorat > Spain
Priorat is a county in Catalonia, Spain. The central part of the Comarca, "Priorat històric," produces the famous and prestigious wine of the “Denominación de Origen” Calificada Priorat. Wines of the Priorat share the wealth of the native varieties (Garnatxes and Carinyena) with the new important varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah). The special climatic characteristics and the surroundings limit the wine production of this zone, making it rare and unique.

This is a new, small family winery, only 170 cases produced; Organic viticulture soon to be certified. All wines are supervised by Toni Coca, one of Spain’s top consulting winemakers.

Priorat
This wine is composed of a blend of Garnacha and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small percentage of Carinyena and Syrah.

This wine has been produced from organic vineyards of Garnacha. Traditional elaboration with 14 months maturation in new French oak barrels. The first vintage was 2003 with a total production of 2,000 bottles. The oak ageing relaxes the young wine and rounds out its aggressiveness of youth, gaining complexity.

Tasting notes/Food pairings: This red wine has a dense color and at the same time very bright, persistent aromas that enrich the taste buds, being fleshy, velvety and with much body. This wine goes well with red and wild meats. It is the perfect accompaniment to meats cooked with wild mushrooms. Also to be enjoyed with red berry desserts.
