| STYRIA
The Gross winery lies on the Ratscher Nussberg, one of the finest vineyards of South Styria. From the patio the eye scans the countless hills of the South Styrian wine country along the Austrian-Slovenian border. Nature’s distinctive play on shapes and colors stimulates the senses and reflects itself in the characteristic wines of the region.
The regionally typical product range cultivated by the Gross family on nearly 50 hectares encompasses Welschriesling, Muskateller, Weissburgunder, Grauburgunder as well as Morillon (Styrian for Chardonnay), Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer. Alois Gross makes distinctive, complex and sumptuous wines. On the one hand the varietally characteristic and fruity "Steirische Klassik" range, on the other the fully ripe single vineyard wines with the distinct aromas of Nussberg, Sulz, Kittenberg and Gamitzberg. |

| Muskateller |
| Brillant dry Muscat. Grapey, polished fragrance with scents of cinnamon and nutmeg; tender and fresh, lean structure, understated fruit flavors.
Muscat is one of the oldest varietals in the world and the base component of many well known wines such as Vin Doux (south of France), Samos (Greece), and Asti Spumante (Italy). It thrives on warm, deep, sandy soils with a low lime content. Muscat grapes are large and yellow and ripen relatively late. The wine displays an intense, fruity fullness of scent with aromas of peach and lychee and a hint of rosepetals. The deep fruitiness continues on the palate, accompanied by a nutty spice. After the must has been left stand for 4 hours, the Steirische Klassik Muskateller is gently pressed, fermented at 17° Celsius and matures after 20 days fermentation in steel tanks. It is an ideal accompaniment to light starters and spicy dishes of the ethno or fusion cuisine. |

| Sauvignon Blanc |
| In accordance with the "Steirische Klassik" wine philosophy, Gross concentrates on developing the rich, fresh fruit tones that the Sauvignon Blanc displays in bouquet and taste. A fruit basket dominated by peppers and asparagus spellbind nose and palate and cushion the piquant acidity of the dry vinified wine.
Fine and subtle bouquet reminding of elderflowers and white asparagus. Light-bodied, but very clean and firm, herbal overtones and subdued elegance. |
