ARDECHE and COTES DU RHONE

Organic Vineyards, across from Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Situated on the right bank of the Rhone River, in the Ardeche region, this ancient domain lies between 2 appellations, Cotes du Rhone and Cotes du Vivarais. The chapel of Notre Dame de Cousignac was built in the 7th century and lies in the midst of the vineyards. The Pommier family, the current owners, bought the property in the Napoleonic era and cultivated wines and silk. After 7 generations, the vineyard is still active though the silk industry has disappeared.

The vineyards are located on marl-limestone hills from the Cretaceous period, when the Rhone River deposited thick layers of sand and pebbles. The vineyards are situated south-southeast, which allows the grapes to benefit from the Mediterranean and Rhodanian climates, ensuring perfect maturity. This combination of soil and climate, coupled with the quality of the selected grape varietals, result in full-bodied wines, noted for their originality and suavity.

Cotes du Vivarais Rose
Fleshy rose, with an intense color and a powerful taste. This is a rose for red wine lovers, for meals and for fun.

This wine is made from a subtle blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Cinsault & 10% Syrah.

Cotes du Vivarais Blanc
This is a dry, supple and very fruity white wine.

It makes you discover the tastes brought by the varietals cropped in the Rhone and Vivarais soils: Marsanne, Clairette, Grenache Blanc.

Cotes du Vivarais Rouge
50% Syrah, plus Grenache & Carignan

Cotes du Rhone Rose
This memorable rosé is composed of a blend of 60% grenache and 40% cinsault grapes cultivated on clay/ limestone sub-soil . Grass is allowed to grow between vine rows and neither chemical fertilizer nor insecticide are ever used. Grapes are hand-harvested at perfect maturity and are triple-selected.

The grapes are completely de-stemmed, crushed, and vinified together.

After up to 12 hours of maceration, a part of the grapes are pressed and the rest are “saigné.“

The alcoholic fermentation takes up to 40 days, after which the wine is very lightly filtered

and sulfites are kept to a strict minimum.

With hints of citrus, spices and fruit, this rosé perfectly accompanies charcuterie, grilled sausages and grilled vegetables, and highly seasoned fish dishes.

Cotes du Rhone Rouge

Syrah-Grenache - Vin de Pays de L'Ardeche
Nice bouquet of black fruits (cherry, blackberry)with hints of spices. Very aromatic palate with silky and elegant tannins. Great with grilled meats, pasta, cheeses or BBQ.

Ardesc - Vin de Table Rouge
ARDESC is the Latin name for the region of Ardeche, which means “extreme” for the beauty the Romans found there. It is the domain’s special reserve wine, deliberately without appellation, which allows them to make the best wine possible, regardless of AOC rules. It is a surprisingly powerful, robust wine with spicy fragrances and a generous, full-bodied taste. It is perfect to serve with red meat, well-aged cheeses, game and rich dishes. The wine is supple but well-structured . It’s volume in the mouth and its aromatic constitution allow it to be kept for more than 10 years. The wine is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, hand-harvested with limited yields.

Hommage Leon Pommier
This wine offers a mix of ripe, dark blackberry and raspberry fruit along with notes of game, mineral, tar and bittersweet cocoa. Fleshy and supple throughout, with deceptive power on the finish.
