COTES-DE-BEAUNE MEURSAULT
The Jobard-Morey domaine is a small family estate with cellars in the heart of Meursault. They own small parcels in top vineyards such as Les Tillets and Narvaux and Premier Crus Charmes and Poruzots. The viticulture is nearly organic, employing the current philosophy of lutte raisonee (a reasoned approach to organic farming practices). The winemaking is very attentive to the particular soils of the various sites, and the wines are classic expressions of their respective terroirs. The grapes are harvested by hand and, after gentle pressing, the wines ferment in oak barrels in the domaine’s very cold cellars. The wines develop in barrel for 12 to 15 months before bottling. Jobard-Morey uses between 15-20% new casks each year, so the wines are not overly marked by oak.
